Body Moments ~ In the Moment with your Heart ~ A Meditation to Open Your Heart and Receive.!
Issue #003 - December 22, 2010
Happy Holidays to all! May your holiday season be filled with Love, Warmth and Joy and may we all make a promise to bring Peace to the world, wherever we go!
The Holidays are a time for giving and receiving. Some of my readers may have already read my latest article entitled, "Our Greatest Fear of All." In it I discuss how our culture gets the giving part. We understand our abundance and are willing and able to give. Yet we have a much harder time learning to receive. In order to complete the Cycle of Love we need to learn that receiving is just as important as giving. If there is no receiving, there is no giving! Learning to receive is a gift itself. In fact, receiving from Grace is vital if we are to lead healthy
and happy lives.
(Please read my Greatest Fear article first, if you wish to lay the mental groundwork to receive the full meaning of the heart meditation.)
In this segment, I am going to give you a meditation on how to open your heart to receive and how to relinquish control, so that you can accept Grace and all that it has to offer in your life.
"Do not weep and grieve nor let your hearts remain in doubt, for his grace will be with all of you, sustaining and protecting you."
~ Gospel of Mary Magdalene, saying 22, 23 (Gnostic Gospel Text)
Let's begin by finding a comfortable position that will not distract your ability to focus. When you find this position, rest the back of your hands on your thighs, so that the palms are open and facing upward.
Relax into this comfortable position. Close your eyes.
Begin to focus on your breath. Take several deep, cleansing breaths. Relax into your breath. Thank God/the Universe for all that you have and all that you are.
When you are ready, turn to attention to your chest. Feel your chest rise and fall as you continue to take deep and cleansing breaths. Notice any feelings in your chest.
When you are ready, repeat the following affirmations:
Wisper out loud or silently,
"I open my heart and soul"
"I am open to receive."
"I will fill myself with Love and Grace and receive that which is meant only for me."
"I take freely of the well of Love."
"The well of Love is deep and wide."
"I complete the Cycle of Love and I receive Grace."
Repeat the affirmations as many times as you wish. Create your own if you wish.
Stay in the moment with your heart, continuing to open it to receive. Stay open and silent and aware for as long as you wish. You may receive in this
very moment, or you may receive at any moment. Just stay open.
It is by tuning into your heart, into it's inner most depths that you become open to receive. It is only by receiving the gift of Grace, that you are fully able to give it to those who need it from you. It is by relinquishing control of your own life, to a Greater Power that understands your needs better than you do, that you can be truly open to the gifts that are there for you.
If you do this heart meditation on a daily basis, and open your heart to the Presence of God, you will connect with his Grace. The promise is there for protection and sustenance. This means more abundance and love then you have ever known. And all you need to do is be open to receive.
Go forward, with an open heart to receive all that is there for you!
