Beginning of Menopause

Hi! I've read that bleeding in between cycles is common (1 out of 5) in women starting to be menopausal. What about spot bleeding for 8 days, which started 2 days after an early (half way through the cycle) menstruation? is that common too?
Thank you and best regards.

PS: I booked an doc's appointment already, just to make sure.

Hello Dear One,
Yes, it is true that many unusual menstrual patterns occur during the time of menopause. Spoting can occur in between cycles and the cycles themselves can become very irregular. However, you are very wise to get this checked out because there may be other issues contributing to the problem. Uterine fibroids may be causing excess bleeding. They are benign growths that are relatively common. If there is a treatment that will make your transition easier, you may want to consider this as well. I hope you are seeing a holistic or integrative practitioner so you are not just given artificial hormones. This time of transition is a lovely time to slow down and honor the process of being you! Blessings to you on your journey!
