I started hoop dance as a moving meditation 4 years ago for meditation for pain relief.I find it to be meditation as medicine. When I hoop dance, I fling away my cares and download joy. Its funny that using a hula hoop in my exercise routines is so empowering. It has helped me attain a positive body image and now I share it with people of all ages. Hooping incorporates intuitive movement in many ways. One finds their flow in the spinning and rounded movements. I try to incorporate Tai Chi and yoga movements. My community has en-circled me and our circle is growing. I truly believe in the healing properties of the hoop. I started my site www.hooptoheal.net as a way to get the conversation of the healing properties of the hoop started and to share with others who may not know that this low impact, high FUN option is available and for adults.Thank you for this wonderful website.I cannot wait to learn more!-Juliet
